It came with a OBD2 adapter that plugs into a USB port on a laptop, and software to diagnosis codes called OBDwiz. It found the bad code on the F150 which was the rear speed sensor.
I might suggest instead of doing a google search, try to use a bit torrent search; let me explain: I have a friend who is from Russia and he showed me and helped my sign up for a free Russian torrent site (instead of the URL ending in.COM it ends in.RU) I use Google Chrome as it has a automatic translate and will translate the Russian words into English. The torrent site I have been able to download actual manufacture DVD service manuals, like the ones that dealerships have. Dust hakida referat mean. They come in an ISO image and you have to use one of the CD / DVD burning programs like Roxio or Nero. The copyright laws are very loose over there so they publish on their web servers everything. I am currently working on a Navigation DVD ISO image for my car instead of paying over $250 for a OEM Nav DVD, I am searching the site for one that will work with my car and I can burn my own with Nero from an ISO image. I will post once I get it done to let people know if it works.
If someone over the has software that will work with your obd2 scanner it might be there. I have HEARD that people find everything from music, movies, software, books on CD or MP3, and TV showsW;) Please or to join the conversation. I hate to be the guy, but I think Eric and his webmaster would prefer that this kind of talk wasn't used on his site. While I don't condemn torrent sites ( I have my own feelings on file sharing ), I don't think this is the kind of place where you should be finding ways to 'pirate' any software, at least in the open forums.
I would leave that PM's if you feel the need to share the information. However, a nice piece of software for your Android smart phone that works very nicely that I can recommend is called 'torque'. There is a free trial, but the actual program is only 5 bucks, and is very powerful for what it is. However, the bluetooth adapter is about $100. The cheap ELM 327 adapters on ebay and amazon will only last for about 2-3 days if you are lucky. Beyond that, there are plenty of freeware OBD2 software programs that you can try before you buy that range in price from relatively cheap up to $800 that allows you to write to the vehicles computer.
Scantool.net v1.13 is the latest free program that I know of that will work with an ELM327. You can watch my video below on it. The new versions of Scantool.net dropped support because they said the ELM327 was not easy to continue supporting but I think it was because they wanted to sell their own product the Elm Scan. It seems to pick a random com port in device manager so you have to make sure whatever is selected in the Scantool software matches what the acutal USB port is and set it to 38400. I'm considering getting a bluetooth ELM327 so I can use it with my android phone with the Torque application. I would really love any software that can access freezeframe data from an ELM327.
