Yairi guitars. Please make your choice from the below. Acoustic electrics.
I’ve just come upon this wonderful site by accident. I have a K.Yairi guitar that I bought second hand about 24 years ago. I’ve looked inside and the label says Anne 1982.a 82. Model No (I’d never noticed the model had my name before) Serial number is 20373 followed by 57.4.02 (Which according to your Emperor information confirms that the guitar was made in 1982. Making it 28 yrs old. I still play this guitar socially and professionally and never tire of comments about the quality and tone of the sound. Hi my name is leigh.
I have a K Yairi DY63 1985 guitar. I’ve had it 4 years now and will never part with it. I love this guitar! So im trying to get info on it. The thing is, i’ve seen other pics of this model online and they dont seem to match mine exactly.
The differences are in the head it only had K Yairi showing. There is no Alverez logo on this guitar anywhere. The tuning pegs also have K Yairi not alverez. It has all other features as ones i’ve researched like the signature and bi phonic pickup. Was there 2 types of that model?
I was wondering if you can shed some light on my questions.
The tradition of making fine musical instruments in the Yairi family, began in the late 1920’s. Kazuo Yairi’s Father, Giichi, was an apprentice in the Suzuki violin company in Nagoya, Japan. After many years he became a master luthier in the Suzuki workshop. He left Suzuki in 1929 and soon was producing violins, and then guitars, in his own workshop. He worked for himself, earning a reputation for creating exceptional violins and guitars for concert musicians.
Kazuo Yairi and his three brothers were exposed at an early age to the art of making fine musical instruments. From early childhood, Kazuo Yairi developed a keen interest in guitar building, especially concert classic guitars. This interest was heighened by the frequent visits to the Yairi home by Masao Sasaki, one of Japan’s foremost classic guitar players. The virtuosity of Sasaki coupled with the teaching of Kazuo’s Father provided the real impetus for Kazuo to become a guitar luthier.
At eighteen, Kazuo Yairi started his own workshop devoted exclusively to building classic guitars. He was later joined by his three younger brothers who still work with him at the Yairi Factory in Gifu, Japan. Kazuo Yairi has many craftsmen plus his brothers who work with him making Renaissance lutes, vihuelas, classic and dreadnought steel string guitars. That the label has Alvarez by KAZUO YAIRI tells me it is an earlier model, along with the use of the 4 digit model number which were later changed to 2 letters and 2 or more numbers (and some with designation letters following). To find the actual date you need to check the heelblock for a series of numbers, come back and post them here and I should be able to tell you the year for sure.
The date on the labels are normally when it was inspected, not the completion date. The 5060 was later changed to the DY85, solid Spruce top, (and if this is as early as I think) it will have a 2 pc back of African Jacaranda (laminate).
Later versions will have 3 pc back of Burled Mahogany and Rosewood. Ebony fingerboard with Abalone inlays, Pearloid inlays in top and around sound hole. 1973 MSRP $460 yl •. Yariluver, I LOVE MY YAIRI.! That being said, I purchassed my DY74C in the mid 1980’s at a pawn shop. I traded a Washburn and a Sax for it.
I want to have DVD that contains my image files, Bootable files and Ghost Program. Should I burn on My DVD so that I can execute Ghost 2003 from DOS? Just have problem burning Norton Ghost 2003 and then accessing it in DOS???/ Any help will be appreciated. I DO NOT want to use Ghost 2003 option to make bootable floppy disk. Norton ghost 2003 dos boot cd iso 10.
