Jan 22, 2007 - My information from vista upgrade advisor is that I don't need to provide drivers. Vista wants me to uninstall the specified driver. If you can tell. Aug 4, 2015 - The normal uninstall of old drivers in Device Manager isn't working. I am trying to update my Intel 7260AC Wi-Fi adapter to the latest.
I also solved the problem using procmon (process monitor) from Microsoft. I set procmon to monitor file system access only in the 'update' process (I dragged that little bullseye target from the tool bar button to the update). I enabled monitoring after the update gave a chance to retry the install after uninstalling dell storage manager driver. I found that the update looks for afamgt.sys in a lot of places, including previous driver installation paths. My update failed because it found afamgt.sys on a network path! That driver was installed on that computer before the windows 10 upgrade! (probably two upgrades before, from windows 7 pro, to windows 8.1 pro, to windows 10 pro) Deleting the old driver installation files from the server shared folder fixed the issue!
At first I saw someone post that was the source of the problem. I looked everywhere in the computer, and was unable to find 'afamgt.sys'. Giving it another chance with procmon was able to find the answer.

Or, you can uninstall RAID Storage Manager from your computer by using the Add/Remove Program feature in the Window's Control Panel. • On the Start menu (for Windows 8, right-click the screen's bottom-left corner), click Control Panel, and then, under Programs, do one of the following: • Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall a Program.
• Windows XP: Click Add or Remove Programs. • When you find the program RAID Storage Manager, click it, and then do one of the following: • Windows Vista/7/8: Click Uninstall.
• Windows XP: Click the Remove or Change/Remove tab (to the right of the program). • Follow the prompts. A progress bar shows you how long it will take to remove RAID Storage Manager.
